Regency build glass stocks in anticipation of UK glass producers closure.
Taking advantage of our huge storage capacity, Regency have built glass and other component stock holding to maximum levels.
From April 2021, key supplier Saint-Gobain, will be undertaking planned maintenance of their UK plant based in Eggborough. The work will take several months. This will see the tank expanded and the necessary maintenance program that all float lines have to carry out periodically.
During their closure, another UK float line will also be closing for repairs meaning that over 60% of UK flat glass production will be temporarily out of action for several months. Glass will be imported from the EU.
Regency are long term customers of Saint-Gobain and whilst we have built our stock levels to capacity, we are secure in the knowledge that Saint-Gobain have more float lines in Europe than any other glass producer.
We will continue to take glass deliveries as we consume product and due to our structure, we will also be taking direct deliveries from Europe, making Saint-Gobain’s process easier as the loads will not need to be unloaded and repacked at Eggborough
