Regency Glass Expands Production with Glaston Machinery
At Regency Glass, we’re proud to announce a major investment in state-of-the-art machinery from Glaston, reinforcing our position at the forefront of high-quality insulating glass production in the UK.
UK's First TPS® Applicator Leads Major Investment in Ultra-Thin Triple-Glazed IGU Manufacturing
This multi-million pound investment includes one thin triple insulating glass unit (IGU) line, a TPS® applicator—currently the only one of its kind in the UK—two MULTI’ARRISSER machines for edge processing, and a brand-new furnace. These new machines will be delivered in the third and fourth quarters of 2025 and are part of our strategic expansion into the production of ultra-thin triple-glazed IGUs.
Featuring an ultra-thin 0.5mm middle pane, our new TGUs are significantly lighter than conventional triple glazing and deliver up to a 35% improvement in U-values compared to standard 28mm DGU options alongside significant improvement in
both weight and U-values for both 36mm and 44mm options. As low as 0.5 W/m².K u-value can be achieved whilst only 5% heavier than a double-glazed unit, delivering high performance without the drawbacks associated with conventional heavy, thick TGUs.
Precision and Efficiency: Partnering with Glaston for Ultra-Thin TGU Manufacturing
We’ve continuously operated with quality as our foundation, and we believe Glaston is the only supplier capable of delivering the precision and efficiency we require when beginning to manufacture our new ultra-thin TGUs. Our production already benefits from Glaston’s Autopilot technology for glass tempering.
“Building on top of the automation capabilities, Regency Glass had the opportunity to plan their new offering around the production process of new ultra-thin IGUs. The production design makes the most of the proven TPS® technology and a patented processing method created specifically for ultra-thin glass,” says Sasu Koivumäki, Chief Sales Officer at Glaston.
Our Chief Operating Officer, Wayne Fitzmartin, explains, “We focus on investments that will meet the glazing industry's future requirements. To address the market's growing need for energy efficiency, we see a potential for ultra-thin insulating glass units with a better U-value that fit the existing window frame width. With Glaston’s technology and process know-how support, we are confident we will maintain our established production quality and reliability when stepping into a new production field.”
We’re excited to take this next step forward and look forward to showcasing more details at the upcoming FIT Show.
Stay tuned for further updates.
