Solgard hits the roof

Regency have introduced a select series of glass types which are perfect for use in glass buildings. Solgard™ combines solar control with thermal insulation, allowing the consumer to use the conservatory all year round. Thanks to its neutrality and low reflection it provides an excellent response to current architectural trends.

Solgard and Solgard+ are silver-based coated products that offer the benefits of state-of -the-art magnetron coated glass and excellent Low-E performance coupled with the flexibility for fabrication and solar control performance of Solgard.

The initial months after the launch in January 2006 raised slight concern; as a slower then expected interest in Solgard™ was noticed. However, by March customer demand for Solgard™ had increased and now orders for the product are received almost every day.

Regency have received positive feedback on completed installations from both the installation teams and the end-user, with specific regard to the solar control properties helping to keep the conservatory cool during the recent warm weather.

A Solgard™ heat lamp demonstration kit issued to all customers is also proving to be a success; allowing showroom presentation to the public.

Regency will continue to invest in Solgard™ both commercially and technically to improve the product range and hopefully continue to gain a greater share in this growing market.
