Awards Ceremony

Dean Beazant (Director) and Wayne Fitzmartin (General Manager) attended the Modern Apprenticeship Awards at the Palace Hotel in Manchester on 29 April 2004. The evening was hosted by Granada Reports front woman and TV Personality Lucy Meacock.

There were eight awards on offer and Regency Glass were delighted to win the Industry Employer of the Year Award, beating large companies such as BOC. Regency Glass were nominated by Paul Fairhurst of the North Lancs Training Group due to the effort and commitment from both employer and employees.

Regency Glass started the NVQ programme 18 months ago and it has proven a huge success with over 15 employees already taking part in the training programme.

Wayne Fitzmartin , General Manager, who is responsible for training at Regency Glass was delighted with the award as it is recognition for the staff who have achieved new qualifications and for the training systems that are in place at the company.

Wayne comments “As a company we feel that Modern Apprenticeships help our staff to feel that the company belongs to them as well as to the owners. This award is a significant achievement for us and we are very proud to have won this category.”

Regency Glass have now reached the National final which will be held in London later in the year, which will be hosted by Carol Vordeman. Hopefully we can go onto win the National Award.
