As part of our on-going investment program, Regency Glass have bought a new Bottero 2.5m automatic seaming machine.
This machine prepares the glass prior to entering the toughening process. Once cut, the edges of the glass are nicked and imperfect. This could cause breakage during the tempering process, as the glass expands during heating and contracts during cooling. The seaming machine smooths the edges by a sanding process to give a more consistent edge. This reduces the potential for breakage, thereby increasing efficiency and quality.
