LaminatedLaminated safety glass is produced by combining layers of glass with plastic or resin interlayer’s to form sandwiches of material with specific design properties. The diagram below shows how each single sheet of laminated glass is made up: When laminated glass breaks, the glass fragments adhere to the interlayer material, thereby reducing risk of serious injury. If Laminated glass is broken, the interlayer continues to safeguard the building until the glass is replaced. Re-glazing can be done when convenient, rather than during expensive after-hours. Please also find a short video clip which shows the glass being cut to size. Hopefully this will show you more about how the piece of glass is made. In this video we cut both sides of the glass and then melt the PVB layer in between. This then separates the glass.
