Critical Locations

Some frequently encountered critical locations are shown and described below. The recommendations given are based on reasonable standards of behaviour by the building user.

1. Doors (glazing wholly, or partly, within 1500mm from floor or ground level)
2. Door side panels (glazing wholly, or partly, within 300mm from the edge of a door and wholly, or partly, within 1500mm from floor or ground level)
3. Low level glazed areas (glazing wholly, or partly, within 800mm from floor or ground level (excluding that dealt with in door & door side panels))

In critical areas, as described above considerations should be taken to ensure the correct use of safety glass.
